City of Miami Gardens Councilwoman Felicia Robinson, T.E.E.S.-Miami, The Girl Rethought Project, and The Brown Girls will have the pleasure of hosting the Let’s Talk Series. The free event takes place on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, 3000 NW 199th St, Miami Gardens, Florida 33056. Let’s Talk will include breakout workshop sessions for teens and adults covering topics on social media, effective/positive communication and bullying. The close out Panel Discussion will discuss “Perception vs. Reality” and the underlying effects it has on our communities. The VIP panel consisting of special invited guests will be moderated by Hot 105’s Jill Tracey. Continental Breakfast and registration is from 9:00am-9:30am. Lunch will be served, in addition to door prize giveaways from Shea Moisture, Scout by Bungalow, Fredrick Francois, Koko’s Klosets and many more. This is a free event for teens & parents. Let’s Talk Series seeks to engage our youth and the community in discussions that are necessary to promote positive growth, enrichment, and change through unity & collaborations, one series at a time. This kickoff event is being made possible by the support of Miami Gardens Councilwoman Felicia Robinson who understands that lasting change will come through the achievements of our children however guidance, understanding and conversations are necessary….“Let’s Talk”.
