The Miami-Dade County Youth Fair presented Palmer Trinity School junior Waleed Mneimneh with this year’s Walter B. Arnold Jr. Youth Hall of Fame Community Service Award.

This prestigious award recognizes noteworthy youth achievement for private and public middle and high school students from Miami Dade County in service to their school and community. It was created to recognize and reward those students whose unselfish commitment of time and energy has impacted others in a beneficial way.

Each year, only one middle school student and one high school student are chosen out of hundreds of applicants to be inducted into the Youth Hall of Fame. Waleed was chosen for his exceptional service to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. In his freshman year at PTS, Waleed began the Autism Awareness Club. The club’s signature event Ace for Autism Tennis Tournament has since raised over $60,000 for the UMNSU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.
