If you are a pet owners who says: “I don’t want my dog or cat to feel less of a male/female,” we have eye opening news for you… Pets don’t have any concept of sexual identity or ego!
They do not have a physical or emotional need to have babies. So, if you have an unaltered animal or just rescued an animal from the street, what’s the first thing you should do for your cat or dog? Have him/her spayed or neutered!
That’s why the Humane Society of Greater Miami, along with local media celebrity and Deco Drive’s Louis Aguirre, kicked off its SayOK2Spay (or neuter) campaign during May with a 30 second PSA on the importance of spaying and neutering.
The Humane Society is also offering drastically reduced prices for spaying and neutering services at the organization’s two clinics. The surgery for dogs will only cost $30 and surgery for cats will only cost $15.
“In order to help Miami-Dade County in its effort to become a “No Kill Community” and to decrease the number of animals entering the shelter system, we have to prevent the births of unwanted puppies and kittens,” said Louis Aguirre.
“We won’t be able to adopt our way out of the serious pet overpopulation problem we have in Miami; we must spay or neuter!” emphasized Laurie Hoffman, Executive Director of the Humane Society of GreaterMiami.
The Humane Society of Greater Miami has two clinics: one in North Miami Beach at 16101West Dixie Highway and the other in Cutler Bay at 10700 SW 211 Street.
Appointments may be scheduled online at humanesocietymiami.org or by calling 305- 749-1827 for the North Clinic and 305-749- 1854 for the South Clinic.
The Humane Society of Greater Miami is dedicated to placing every dog and cat into a loving home. As well as, promoting responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter programs. More than 300 homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are cared for every day in its shelter.
