Divine Savior Academy recently broke ground for its new high school building with a special groundbreaking service taking place at the school’s auditorium before the outdoor ceremony.
Members of the press, city government, as well as the administration, faculty, and families of DSA attendws the much-anticipated event. Divine Savior Academy’s new standalone high school building will be located to the north of its current campus on an adjoining 7.75 acres of land.
The building with an additional 88,000 sq. ft. of educational space will have 23 classrooms, four science labs, tiered lecture rooms, an outdoor classroom, a gymnasium, a weight room, media center, audio visual lab, computer lab, chess room, dance studio, art studio, and music lab.
The campus will also include four tennis courts, a soccer/football field, more playground area, and over 200 additional parking spaces. The entire PreK3-Twelfth Grade program will benefit from the additions.
DSA has scheduled opening of the new building in August 2015, for the 2015-2016 school year. On the heels of so much growth in the Doral community, the academy hopes to serve an additional 400 students with its new high school addition.
“It’s been extremely exciting to watch DSA and the City of Doral grow and expand. We’re thrilled to be a part of this thriving community,” commented Principal Ben Troge.
Divine Savior Academy has over 550 students enrolled in Pre-K3 through twelfth grade in its Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle and High School programs. The school is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
“It’s been a very exciting year for DSA. We’re thankful to God, the community of Doral, our DSA families, and the generous outpouring of our donors!” remarks School Superintendent Carlos Leyrer.
