Denise Erwin is a professional in all she does, not the least of which is raising funds for worthy causes that have impact well beyond our nation’s borders.
Born and raised in San Diego, she attended and graduated from the University Iberoamericana in Mexico City and went on to earn a master’s in marketing at Anahuac Catholic University, also in Mexico City.
As a hospitality and marketing professional, Denise has been the sales manager for Seasons 52 in Coral Gables since 2010, and before that was the sales and marketing manager for Morton’s, also in the Gables.
Over the years, she has gained a great reputation in her field. Better yet, Denise has used her influence in that arena to not only promote local charities but to create charitable fundraising events with her friends. For several years she joined forces with her numerous friends in the hospitality industry to produce Miami Charity Water fundraisers. Because they were able to secure in-kind donations for everything, 100 percent of the events’ proceeds went to charity and helped bring about greater awareness of the need for potable water.
She and her cohorts helped raise $8,000 to build wells in Africa, and $10,800 for wells in Odessa, India, providing potable water for areas where people die daily for lack of water.
Through her daughter, Tabatha, a Miami’s Honors College student and soon- to-be Florida Gator, Denise was exposed to the Global Medical Brigade. As a supportive parent, she started supporting her daughter’s mission with the Brigade to Africa and helped raise $5,000 for the Global Medical Brigade’s medical supplies for Honduras.
This August, Denise will participate hands-on in Honduras water brigade. Not just a pretty face, Denise commits body and soul to programs that make a difference.
It seems the apple does not fall far from the tree. Daughter Tabatha was so moved during her first mission to Africa last year that she has since returned for a year to serve there as part of the Brigade mission. Both Denise and Tabatha are truly beautiful inside and out and have already saved countless lives with their selfless efforts.
When Denise is not working or helping with charity events, she loves cooking, spinning, reading.
