Get ready for a hot, wild and wet summer at Jungle Island as South Florida’s popular attraction presents its first-ever “Africa Nights” now through Aug. 10.
As part of a special summer promotion to coincide with the debut of the park’s newly transformed private beach, a troop of 12 talented African performers from Cirque Zuma Zuma will converge on Jungle Island to provide visitors with non-stop entertainment, as seen on the hit TV series America’s Got Talent.
Be entranced by 17 acrobatic performances including human pyramids, Zulu dancers, pole climbers, percussionists, and much more. Each day, Jungle Island will feature impressive shows every 15 minutes starting at 3 p.m., and will close with a grand finale beginning at 8:15 p.m. in the Parrot Bowl.
Additionally, Jungle Island will adapt one of its signature animal shows — Dr. Wasabi’s Wild Adventures — to reflect the Africa Nights theme. What’s more, park visitors can see some of the world’s most fascinating animals at Jungle Island.
After working up a sweat with Cirque Zuma Zuma, cool off at Jungle Island’s private beach, Parrot Cove. In time for Africa Nights and new Jungle Adventure summer camps, Jungle Island reopened its private beach to much fanfare on June 21. Recently, Parrot Cove underwent the final touches of a dramatic facelift, which turned the once-barren parcel of land into a sophisticated tropical beach playground that includes lounge chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, food and drink service, as well as an exciting new aqua park, Sports Park 60.
“Our private beach transformation and Africa Nights is part of an exciting evolution taking place at Jungle Island,” said John Dunlap, CEO of Iconic Attractions Group, which is the management company over Jungle Island. “In the next five years, our plan is to turn Jungle Island into a truly iconic destination with repeatable experiences centered around adventure, animals, discovery and play.”
The new luxurious beach oasis will boast top-of-the-line Wibit equipment including the massive Sports Park 60, which consists of balance beams, action tower, trampoline, bridge, cliff, high jump, catapult, slide and swing. The IceTower climbing wall will give even the most gifted climbers a test of strength and endurance. While sports enthusiasts can try their hand at playing volleyball from a floating court. For guests’ safety, all activities will take place under the watchful eye of certified lifeguards.
Park admission into Jungle Island includes access to Africa Nights and Parrot Cove. There is a nominal fee to use lounge chairs, umbrellas, cabanas and the water play activities. Jungle Island will limit the aqua parks to 60 people per hour.
