The 29th Annual South Florida Singles Lifestyle Expo at Magic City Casino on August 10th, not only attracted hundreds of exhibitors but many more from all over South Florida to participate in the single programs during the evening. Aside from a broad variety of vendors at the event, Expo organizer, Al Barry, of Multi Expo Intl., generously provided several tables for non profits to promote their programs.
Among those charitable groups at the event were women from the GFWC Coral Gables Woman’s Club: Mayra Doninguez, Debi Moore and Enid Miguez. The group shared their mission with several ladies interested in giving back to the community through service and raffles off Enid’s Heavenly Rum Cakes and tickets to the Club’s Casino Night fundraiser on March 7, 2015.
The American Diabetes Association was also represented by intern, Marco Dell’Api, who had a great day finding several people interested in signing up for the September 27th Step Out Walk to Cure Diabetes at Marlins Park. This is always a fun event with entertainment, great vendor booths, and a chance to help prevent and stop diabetes. Coincidentally, September 27 is this writer’s birthday; so, join me for cake at the Community Newspapers booth at the ADA Walk and support this great cause. For more information on that, visit www.diabetes.org/stepoutmiami.
It is always great to see the business community help charitable organizations. Kudos to Multi-Expo, Intl. for doing just that.
Speaking of fun events, on September 27th, plan on attending the 2nd Annual Woodystock Benefit Concert with the Gypsy Kings, The Boom Booms Magical Beat, Robby Hunter Band and Katarina Visnevska will be held from 4-8 p.m. at Peacock Park in Coconut Grove.
Woody stock is a grassroots event for music, art and food lovers. Proceeds from the concert will benefit The Woody Foundation, a nonprofit organization created to raise funds for the recovery of people with spinal cord injuries. Visit: www.woodyfoundation.org
In other news, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral recently hosted the Boys’ Choir of Monaco for an inspiring concert. For their 40th anniversary, the Monaco Boys’ Choir of the Principality of Monaco, formerly known as The Little Singers of Monaco (Les Petits Chanteurs de Monaco), awed the audience with an amazing 30 minute show that was free and open to public. Under the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert of Monaco, the Monaco Boys Choir helps humanitarian associations throughout the world by donating their performances. The Choir, directed by Pierre Debat, was founded in 1974 by Prince Rainier III. With 30 boys, between the ages of 8 and 18, the choir averages 40 concerts a year and has visited 40 countries.
Finally, there will be a great business expo at MACC on September 10th. To find out more about this business marketing opportunity, call the Doral Business Council at 305 470-9597.
Until next time, keep making each day count.
