
Symphonettes has been a highly regarded organization of stuents dedicated to enriching the fine arts in the Miami community since 1966.
Symphonettes members have committed time to volunteering at music and art activities as well as ushering at performing arts events in the community. The legacy and reputation each president has left behind has strengthened the club as a whole.
Last year, president Julie Goldstein led Symphonettes through a very successful year in which the group donated more than $50,000 to organizations and public schools in the community.
Symphonettes’ major fundraisers throughout the year include a fall raffle, garage sale and spring fashion show with a silent auction. Dr. Lawrence S. Feldman presented a proclamation from the Miami- Dade School Board to the Symphonettes at the end of the past school year for organization’s hard work and success.
This school year, Symphonettes has a total of 83 dedicated members including more than 45 girls on the general and executive boards. This year’s president is Kelly Moran, a senior at Ransom Everglades. Kelly already has proven to be an enthusiastic leader and has the club running smoothly. Working alongside her are the parent advisors: Laurie McWilliams, Rebecca Szomstein and Beth Johnson.
