You may have thought voting was over for awhile, but there’s a special election set for Tuesday, April 21, due to a request by the Alexander Montessori School located at 14850 SW 67 Avenue in Palmetto Bay. Only those registered voters who reside within 2,000 feet of the property will be voting in this election. The precinct for casting ballots is Christ Congregational Church, 14920 Southwest 67th Avenue, which will be opened from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the day of the Special Election. The purpose of the election is to consider approval or disapproval of the following question: Should Alexander Montessori School be allowed to increase enrollment from 270 to 329? The Village Charter requires a neighborhood vote. If successful, then the proposed increase will go to a public hearing before the Village Council.?

If you’re waiting at the bus stop for the IBus, you may be there a long while! We hear that the IBus has been temporarily suspended again. The village’s popular commuter bus service is suspended on both Routes A and B until further notice. ?We regret the inconvenience and invite you to contact the Public Works Department with your questions and concerns, or call 305-969-5111,” says Public Works staff.

By the way, the regular monthly Council Meeting is on Monday May 4 at 7:00 p.m., at the address given above.
