2015-honda-accord-hybrid-sedan-charging[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he 2015 Honda Accord is the ninth generation incarnation of the company’s flagship automobile, going 40 years and strong with each new redesign. The Accord Sedan LX base model strikes out on the floor with a new take on the aesthetic of its previous models, sporting all new exterior and interior technological innovations. Both the sedan and coupe variants come in various configurations: such as the LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, EX-L V-6 and Touring with various color options. The LX, like all Accords handles pretty well on the road thanks to its smooth controls and distinct lack of lag that comes standard with Honda vehicles, providing a smooth drive for anyone behind the wheel. In my experience, this is one of the better options in it’s class.

Interior

Brimming with features, the LX model seats five and comes standard with a 8-inch LED display, power windows, cruise control, illuminated steering wheel controls, and Bluetooth Streaming Audio. Safety features include Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Traction Control, Anti-Locking Braking System, Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist. Alongside the rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, the airbag system that covers front, side and side curtain, the car provides optimum safety for all of its occupants. The interior is a personal favorite of mine, accented with chrome and premium upholstery throughout, with plenty of leg room at 48.5/38.5 inches, and its eight cup holders, which unlike previous models hold all different shapes of bottles and containers.

Exterior

The LX comes with an elegant front grille and smooth 16-inch alloy wheels that accentuate the classic Honda aesthetic with a new age flourish. The sleek design of this car, like its interior is layered with chrome accents from its door handles to its exhaust adds that impressive touch to its character. Like its previous model, the Accord LX stands at 191.4 inches in length along with the roomy 15.8 cubic inch trunk, a must for anyone who needs space for either people or large items. The eye pleasing, aerodynamic design from its sleek hood to its all body contouring, adds to the luxurious feel of the vehicle.

The LX comes with a 185-hp (SAE Net), 2.4-Liter, 16-Valve, DOHC i-VTEC® 4-Cylinder Engine with Direct Injection, standing at 6,400 rpm and 181 lb.-ft 3,900 rpm of torque. The LX has a long torque curving, adhering to a smooth, but brisk acceleration on the road, alongside optimum fuel efficiency. Alongside the intelligent variable cylinder management system of the V-6 engine, this vehicle adapts well to the driving and acceleration style of its user. Thanks to the direct injection system, the car gets pretty good gas mileage on the road with that comfortable revving of the engine as you speed by down the road.

Price

The starting MSRP on the 2015 Honda Accord is $22,105.
