[dropcap]F[/dropcap]ast and made with quality materials and chockfull of technological features, the 2015 Infiniti Q60 Coupe easily matches well with its BMW and Lexus competition. The Q60 has a user-friendly control layout and comes standard with keyless entry and ignition, leather upholstery, seven-inch touchscreen display and a rearview camera.
For 2015, two new models have been added to the Q60 Coupe lineup — the S Coupe Limited and S Coupe Limited 6MT— joining the Coupe Journey, Coupe AWD, S Coupe 6MT, S Coupe Limited and S Coupe Limited 6MT. A hardtop convertible model is also available.
All 2015 Infiniti Q60 Coupes, including the new Limited models, are powered by the vaunted 3.7-liter VQ-series V-6 engine with VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) rated at 330 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The VVEL system combines hydraulic-controlled variable valve timing and electronically controlled variable valve lift on the intake side to improve performance and response. The intake camshafts feature continuously variable lift control teamed with the Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS), allowing a 7,500-rpm redline.
Under the Hood
The engine is mated to either a very responsive lightweight six-speed manual transmission or an electronically controlled seven-speed automatic gearbox with a manual mode, downshift rev matching, Drive Sport (DS) mode and Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) that allows for quicker shifts in sporty driving. Solid magnesium paddle shifters are available.
The Q60 Coupe’s impressive handling and performance stems from the second-generation FM (Front Mid-ship) platform. The fourwheel independent suspension design features lightweight aluminum components and large front and rear stabilizer bars. The front suspension is a double-wishbone design, with a single pivot lower wishbone and a long upper link, while the multi-link rear suspension separates the shock absorbers and springs, locating the shock absorber inline with the wheel center. These designs help minimize alignment changes and reduce suspension friction for better handling and a smoother ride. Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) is standard on all models.
Exterior
The Infiniti Q60 Coupe’s aerodynamic design features flowing front fender curves, a wave-style hood, expressive front fascia with Infiniti’s signature double-arch grille and L shaped High-Intensity Discharge (HID) bifunctional xenon headlights. The front fascia includes standard fog lights in the lower fascia area, while the strong side character line and side sills integrate with the large wheel wells. The rear has broad fenders with large LED taillights, a refined rear bumper and large dual exhaust outlets with chrome finishers.
Interior
The Q60 Coupe interior design features a cockpit-oriented front seat area with the Infiniti signature “double wave” instrument panel design. Afull-length center console with a leather and aluminum-clad shifter and aluminum trim add a unique look to the instrument panel, center console and door panels.
Price
The MSRP on the 2015 Infiniti Q60 Coupe ranges from $40,950 to $62,100.
