Inside the 2021 Cadillac Escalade Sport 4WD is a feeling of luxury that is unrivaled.

With a starting sticker price of $88,595, this high-end, three-row sport SUV is fully redesigned and now in its fifth generation. But this is no Beta version of the Cadillac Escalade. This is the car company’s fully realized Alpha vision for a vehicle that is in its stride and taking the lead in the category.

The seven-seat SUV comes standard with a panoramic sunroof that runs from the back to the front of the vehicle. The steering wheel has a big, beautiful badge and feels great in your hands. Within easy reach is the mirror, fitted with a rear camera and one of the best features I’ve seen in some time – an electronic fold feature for the third row of seats that can be triggered from the front cabin instrument panel.

A 38-inch OLED screen with an augmented reality camera is what is behind the clear, crisp display that greets the driver. The augmented reality allows you to view the real-word scene and get navigation tools as you are driving, so getting there is seamless even when you don’t know where “there” is.

Escalade comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which gives you a lot of options for integrating your mobile world into the vehicle.

The seats are cooled and ventilated and come standard with a massage feature. Leather seats are optional. The interior also has leather material throughout the spacious cabin.

The Escalade comes with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates 420 horsepower with 460 pounds-feet of torque. The 2021 Cadillac Escalade also has an optional diesel engine, giving you more chances to customize your ride. The diesel generates better fuel economy and 277 horsepower.

All in all, it gets 15 miles per gallon in the city and 20 miles per gallon in the highway. That may not sound like a lot, but don’t worry – the gas tank is big and if you are driving an Escalade you are going for style, quality and its luxurious interior. Fuel economy will not be a deal breaker for you.

The Sport trim gets Cadillac’s automated driving system, which gives you a sense that a top pilot is behind the wheel.  Although real wheel drive is standard, you can opt for the four-wheel drive model.

On the outside the 2021 Cadillac Escalade looks like strength and power are its middle names. The Cadillac badging is bright and shiny, with stylized accents throughout the exterior. In the black version, there are black side moldings, the door handles can have the same color and can be lit to add more style.

The Sport has big LED headlights, bold 22-inch wheels, and power-retractable side steps, which definitely come in handy at different elevations.

One of the cooler features is that the tailgate is opened by pressing the big, bold badging in the back. With the third row down, you get 94 cubic feet of space, which makes any drive to Home Depot or the mountains a breeze. To lower the tailgate, just kick underneath the rear of the vehicle.

At the end of the day, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade Sport got an amazing redesign that checks off all the boxes on luxury, quality and style.
