Aventura Mayor Enid Weisman and Commissioners Dr. Linda Marks and Gladys Mezrahi were delighted to cut the official red ribbon to signify the opening of Remedy’s Nutrition & Holistic Medicine in Aventura with owner Tony Mendez and his staff. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Tony shared the history behind the ‘how’ and ‘why’ he changed his focus from being a pharmacist who dispenses medicines that often have negative side effects to being a pharmacist who helps improve his clients’ health the natural way.
“Holistic medicine is a branch of medicine that entitles and encompasses your whole body. What we try to do is place natural substances in your body and focus in on what’s wrong to make yourself complete,” explained Tony, a pharmacist with 35 years experience. “I was in Key Largo with my wife and we stopped into the Remedy’s store there where he met his future business partner, Gene Lentz, a nutritionist. Remedy’s Aventura is the third store they now own and operate together with Key West and Miami Lakes. They have plans on expanding to Doral, Key West and Weston. .
