As soon as Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) and the Foundation for New Education Initiatives announced their collaboration with the county and The Children’s Trust to provide 10th – 12th grade M-DCPS students with valuable paid internships, the Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce (AMC) signed up.
The registration was quick and within one day, the resume of Eric Gavizon, a student at MAST at FIU, appeared in the AMC registration folder along with his resume. After a phone conversation, there was no doubt that Eric would be an outstanding summer intern—and he is living up to, and exceeding, all expectations. “Eric is a wonderful young man, “ said AMC President Elaine Adler. “He listens carefully to instructions, asks intelligent questions, learns quickly, has advanced computer and technology skills and is a pleasure to work with. He is creating databases for AMC committees and special events, has filed over a year’s worth of papers and is now working on a major charitable event we are planning for the summer. Eric has been a most valuable addition to our Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with him.”
Eric said, “I feel so fortunate to have the amazing opportunity to intern at the Aventura Marketing Council; Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to the 2021 Summer Youth Internship Program for the Miami Dade County, I am able to gain valuable experience that will reinforce my student experience. I have already so much invaluable experience interning here that will prove extremely useful for my future.”
