Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center, under the leadership of Chairman of the Board William Landa, President Marcy S. Resnik, Rabbi Jonathan Berkun, and Executive Vice President, Dr. Amir Baron, brings many interesting and distinguished speakers to address the community annually.
On Friday January 18,ATJC is collaborating with The American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) Miami Club to bring Alan Dershowitz, Renowned Harvard Law Professor and Author to the Young Professionals Friday Night Live. The evening will feature a Musical Service with Rabbi Jonathan Berkun and Cantor David Muchnick followed by an intimate conversation over Shabbat dinner with Professor Alan Dershowitz. Professor Dershowitz will also appear atATJC on Saturday, January 19 and speak during Shabbat morning services held between 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Professor Dershowitz will enlighten the community with his thoughts on “Why is so much of the World Turning Against Israel?”
Featured speaker Professor Alan Dershowitz has been called “the nation’s most peripatetic civil liberties lawyer.” He has been published in magazines and journals such as The NewYork TimesMagazine, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Harvard Law Review and TheYale Law Journal. Professor Dershowitz is also the author of 27 fiction and non-fiction works.
AIPAC is a bipartisan organization whose members are from every state in the union, representing all faiths, Democrats and Republicans, seasoned political veterans as well as high school and college studentsunited by a shared goal of promoting a strong U.S. – Israel relationship.
The Young Professionals Friday Night Live is presented in cooperation with Israel Bonds Young Investors Society, The Tribe and The Network: Greater Miami Jewish Federations Under 40 Connection. This event is sponsored in part by L’Chaim Kosher Vodka and The Babysitting Company.
