Aventura Police Department happenings in May — Detective Sandra Marquez was nominated by the South Florida Retail Federation for the State of Florida Officer of the Year. She was one of seven finalists in the entire state for this prestigious award and was recognized for her excellent work in dismantling several high profile organized retail theft groups. Det. Marquez is pictured with Attorney General Pam Bondi at the State Capitol.
