Fitness Boot Camp Schedule
The City of Aventura’s Fitness Boot Camp class schedule has been extended to run through June of 2018.
An additional set of classes has been added to the current schedule, and class will now be held at Founders Park every other Saturday through June. Classes start at 9:30 a.m. The following schedule will be observed and includes the current and additional classes: April 14 and 28; May 5 and 19; June 2, 16 and 30.
Participants can expect a fun and interactive workout including multi-functional movements and exercises that aid to improve cardiovascular and pulmonary endurance, as well as overall conditioning. The park’s trail and existing exercise stations will be utilized during class sessions.
Registration is not required, and classes are open to everyone of all levels. Residents are encouraged to obtain a park ID prior to attending class in order to expedite access to the park. Non-residents will be required to pay the park entrance fee ($5 per adult and $3 per child under the age of 18, as long as they are accompanied by an adult) upon arrival to Founders Park. All first time visitors will be required to fill out a waiver of liability upon entering the park for class.
Participants should bring a small towel and water for convenience. Please plan to be in class for approximately one hour.
Adult Softball
Registration is now open for the City of Aventura’s Adult Softball spring season, which starts on Sunday, April 29th and runs through Sunday, July 29th.
The registration fee is $600 per team. A discounted fee of $540 is available for teams where all of the team members are Aventura residents. All teams must register together and in person only at the Community Recreation Center, Founders Park, or Waterways Park.
Movie Night
The next installment in the City of Aventura’s Movie Night series is on Saturday, May 5th featuring the highly acclaimed, animated film “The Emoji Movie” at Founders Park. Movie Night is a free, family-friendly, outdoor movie screening at Founders Park located at 3105 N.E. 190 Street. The park will open at 7 p.m. and the movie will start at 8 p.m.
“The Emoji Movie” centers on Gene, a multi-expressional emoji who lives in a teenager’s phone, and who sets out on a journey to become a normal meh emoji like his parents.
Enjoy a beautiful South Florida spring evening, and remember to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs for seating. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Alcoholic beverages and pets are not permitted in the park. Free parking will be available at the Aventura Government Center Parking Garage just west of Founders Park. Moviegoers are encouraged to arrive early to park and get settled in prior to show time.
Yoga
Complimentary yoga classes will continue to be offered at Founders Park every Friday at 9:00 a.m. from May 4, 2018 through June 29, 2018. The schedule is subject to change.
Yogis of all levels enjoy stretching and building muscle strength while calming the mind outdoors.
