2013 AVENTURA “GO GREEN”AWARDS PROGRAM
The City of Aventura and the Community Advisory Board proudly announces the 2013 GO GREENAwards Recognition Program for allAventura residential and commercial properties. Applications are available online at www.cityofaventura.com or by calling the Community Services Department at 305-466- 8930 and will be accepted until March 1, 2013. Categories for award consideration include recycling initiatives, HVAC upgrades, roof window treatments, use of native or Xeriscape plant materials, water conservation or reclamation measures, use of “Green Seal” or other environmentally friendly products, environmental awareness/education, use of solar/wind sources for power generation and fuel alternatives/ energy conservation practices. The GO GREEN Recognition Award winners will be announced at the City’s GO GREEN Symposium, which will be held in the spring at theAventura Government Center. The Symposium will include informative presentations, displays and exhibits demonstrating successful sustainable, renewable projects.

AVENTURA MOVIE NIGHT AT WATERWAYS PARK
The City ofAventura is proud to announce Movie Night at Waterways Park, 3301 NE 213 Street on Saturday, March 2. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the hit movie “Hotel Transylvania” rated PG, will start at 7 p.m. Festival-type seating is available, so bring lawn chairs and blankets. Parking is located at Gulfstream Park which will be accessible from the NE 213 Street entrance, and shuttle service will be provided to Waterways Park. Food trucks will be providing refreshments for purchase. TEACHER PLANNING DAY PROGRAM MARCH 22
When school is out the adventures begin! The City of Aventura offers fun filled days of activities for children ages 5-14 at the Aventura Community Recreation Center. Spend the day playing games, making crafts, participating in special events and more. Teacher Planning Days begin at 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Fees include all activities and are $43 for residents and $52 for non-residents.
Friday, March 22 – Wacky &Wonderful!
It’s all wacky and fun at “Wacky &Wonderful!” Campers will celebrate spring as they take part in messy water play. They will have a blast with water game activities including Alka-Seltzer tag, Bucket Brigade and Splash Tag. Sandwiches, chips and juice will be provided for lunch.
