Educational Federal Credit Union (EdFed) has announced the creation of a new scholarship program to support the students of Miami Dade College (MDC). EdFed’s College Dreams Scholarship will launch on January 1, 2024, and provide MDC students with an opportunity to be randomly selected for a $1,500 scholarship award each month.
“We are honored to be the official credit union for Miami Dade College students, faculty, employees, and their families,” said EdFed’s President & CEO, Michael DiBenedetto. “This investment in the College Dreams Scholarship is not only an investment in the educational future of MDC students but also represents a major expansion in EdFed’s support for the college.”
To qualify for the College Dreams Scholarship, MDC students must be an EdFed member for at least six months and enrolled in a minimum of one (1) three-credit hour course at the college. Students can submit scholarship applications on EdFed’s website for a chance to win one of 12 monthly scholarship awards totaling $18,000 in 2024.
“We celebrate anytime we can help a student financially,” said Steve Webb, EdFed’s Vice President of Community Relations. “Our new scholarship program is designed to make college dreams more affordable by covering incidental educational costs such as transportation, housing, and other living expenses that are not addressed by grants and academic scholarships.”
