Spend the afternoon celebrating the founding of Aventura, The Greener City of Excellence with your friends, family and neighbors on Sunday, November 3rd.
This year, Miami-Dade County will be on hand to encourage and promote the greener lifestyle in the City of Aventura by implementing the following:
• Exchange Program: Exchange old shower heads and incandescent light bulbs for energy efficient models compliments of Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer;
•Water Conservation: Miami-Dade County will provide workshops throughout the day;
• Vegetable Gardening: Learn how to start your own vegetable garden, and bring home free plants courtesy of the Miami-Dade County Extension Service; and
• Recyclable Craft Stations: Create takehome art made from recycled materials.
The community stage will light up with live entertainment throughout the afternoon including: performances from NBC’s hit show “THE VOICE” season 3’s Jocelyn Rivera and Michaela Paige; The City’s very own talent competition, Aventura STAR, will showcase its finalists; The Community Recreation Center will present activity demonstrations; Team Nutrition will promote a healthier lifestyle for children with an interactive presentation; and don’t miss the hilarious “Not So Newlywed Show” starring Aventura couples. Field games, rock climbing, trampoline bungee jumping, putt-putt golf, giant inflatables, a photo booth, Toddler Town, face painting, hair styling and food trucks will all be present.
