Kesher began in 1995 when local day school administrators, teachers, psychologists and parents recognized the need for a Jewish special education program.
They united to form Kesher, an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) school for Jewish children with learning disabilities and other developmental delays housed in local day schools.
This year they will be celebrating their 16th Annual Scholarship Luncheon on Thursday, December 6th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center, featuring local author Jamie Dell White.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in North Miami Beach, Florida, Jamie studied journalism at the University of Florida and Florida International University. She attended law school at Nova Southeastern University School of Law and practiced labor and employment law in Broward County.
Launching her debut novel Defense of the Heart, in late May 2012, Jamie has been busy promoting her book locally, nationally and online.
