The Broward Center Family Fun Series at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center begins its season with Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse on Saturday, October 25 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
This whimsical musical adaptation of the books by Kevin Henkes follows the adventures of Lilly, an energetic and enthusiastic mouse, who learns that making mistakes is all part of growing up.
Lilly, who has dubbed herself “Queen of the World,” allows her love for cheese snacks, her new red boots, her best friends, her new teacher and especially her new purse that plays music get out of hand. However, getting into trouble teaches Lilly valuable life lessons.
The Family Fun Series is presented by Whole Foods Market and sponsored by Baptist Health South Florida and Vi Aventura.
A full-family experience, children enjoy free pre-show arts and crafts with Young At Art Museum and face painting, as well as complimentary post-show snacks provided by Whole Foods Market.
Tickets are $16 in advance and $18 when purchased the day of the performance; $14 for groups of 10 or more; and $3 lap seats are available for infants 12 months and under. Four-show series subscriptions are $52.
Tickets can be purchased at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center box office Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and 90 minutes prior to each performance.
