Mentorship and empowerment defines Power of the Heels FoundationThe Power of the Heels Foundation has pooled their resources , knowledge and expertise to achieve their goal of educating women and girls to disrupt the poverty cycle.   Programs are held to empower women and girls to be financially independent, emotionally healthy and successful, and the most recent program with the Young Women’s Preparatory Academy featured a program of LIMITLESS to share the ups and downs of life and ensure they know that it’s ok to fall—the most important thing is to rise again and keep trying.

The Foundation’s new partners included, a sought-after resource group,  Aventura Moms and Alexa’s Workspaces with locations in Aventura and beyond.  Hosted by AC Hotel, the group enjoyed their monthly networking RE-ENERGIZED, RE- IMAGINED,  RE-FOCUSED learning from each other.  As teenagers become their own world, teaching parents how to talk to their kids and learning how to identify the red flags  was the topic of a  meeting with renowned cardiologist, Dr. Guido Bergman,  who specializes in the prevention of addiction in teenagers.

The girls from the Loving Me More program  enjoyed a session with fashion specialist, Astrid Zayas, teaching them how to re-make their closet with simple tips. Hosted by the Hampton Inn Aventura/Hallandale Beach, they also learned the importance of making the right choices and the consequences of making the wrong ones presented by TEDx speaker Cece Espeut.   Girls from the program also attended a dance gala, Timeless Classics, by Let’s Dance Miami, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Ted Baker at the Aventura Mall hosted an evening reception with proceeds and their own donation to the charity.

Health is the most important aspect of a woman’s life and thanks to The Health Channel, they were able to share many resources and tools at the Women’s Health Fair.
