Igor Shteyrenberg, the Executive Director of the Miami Jewish Film Festival, has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Champion of the Arts Award by the Citizens Interested in Arts organization. This distinguished honor recognizes Igor Shteyrenberg’s outstanding contributions to the cultural landscape, particularly during his eleven-year tenure at the helm of the Miami Jewish Film Festival.

Under Igor Shteyrenberg’s leadership, the Miami Jewish Film Festival has solidified its position as the world’s largest Jewish cultural event. This year’s record-setting attendance of over 47,500 individuals speaks to the Festival’s unparalleled success in engaging diverse audiences and celebrating the richness of Jewish heritage through the medium of film.

Throughout his tenure, Igor Shteyrenberg has programmed more than 1,500 film premieres representing more than 35 countries, contributing significantly to the global film landscape. His commitment to supporting established and emerging international and local filmmakers has ensured that their voices and stories resonate, both today and for generations to come.

The Miami Jewish Film Festival, under Igor Shteyrenberg’s leadership, has earned international acclaim, receiving three consecutive “50 Best Film Festivals in the World” titles from MovieMaker Magazine (2020-2022) and recognition as “The Best Jewish Film Festival in the US” by The Forward. The Festival has also been acknowledged by Miami New Times as “One of South Florida’s Best Film Festivals” and honored as “Best of Miami” by Miami’s Community Newspapers this year.

Igor Shteyrenberg’s commitment extends beyond the Festival as he actively engages with the community. His participation as an alumnus of the Schusterman Foundation’s young leadership ROI Summit and role as Vice Chair of the City of Miami Beach Production Industry Council board exemplify his dedication to fostering the growth of the local film industry. In 2023, he received a proclamation from the City of Miami Beach for his outstanding support of the Cultural Arts.

As a testament to Igor Shteyrenberg’s achievements, Citizens Interested in Arts will host a celebratory luncheon in his honor on Sunday, March 10 at 11am. This event provides an opportunity for individuals to express their support and commemorate the accomplishments of both Igor Shteyrenberg and the Miami Jewish Film Festival.
