Reflecting on his remarkable journey as a coach, Coach Rubinstein said, “It’s been a true honor being a part of so many lives. What’s even better is watching them grow up into mature adults and going to college, getting married, having kids of their own, starting their own careers, and just basically living their lives to the fullest. It puts a huge smile on my face knowing I had something to do with their lives and impacted them positively in some way.”
Coach Rubinstein also thanked his current and former players and their families, as well as his school administration and staff over the years, for putting their trust in him. “Being a coach is a huge responsibility, and luckily enough, they always gave me the reins so to speak to not just lead, to not just coach, but to teach and help mold our next leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
“To me, it’s always about the team, period and end of story! Coaching is a selfless act which I’ve been lucky to do for over two decades.” Rubinstein emphasized a coach’s role, “A coach is meant to empower, show empathy, listen, challenge, motivate, inspire, support, and help others around them not just reach their potential, but to surpass it. When I say that it’s all about the team, I truly mean that, but in other words, it’s really all about Family!”
Rubinstein’s dedication and passion for coaching is evident in his achievements and the impact he has made on the lives of his players. His focus on teamwork and family has not only led to successful tennis seasons but has also helped shape the character and leadership skills of his players. As he looks ahead to future seasons, Rubinstein remains committed to guiding and inspiring his players to reach their full potential both on and off the court. With his impressive record and numerous accolades, it is clear that Coach Rubinstein has left a lasting legacy in high school tennis and has made a significant impact on the lives of his players and the community.
