Aventura Marketing Council members recently huddled with Mike Dee, CEO of the Miami Dolphins and Sun Life Stadium when Marksman Security Corporation and Sun Life Stadium co-hosted the AMC’s December breakfast meeting.
Kicking off the event at the Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort, AMC Chair Cliff Schulman of Weiss, Serota, Helfman greeted business and community leaders, who joined in wishing him a very happy birthday by singing “Happy Birthday Mr. Chairman” accompanied by a vivacious squad of Dolphins cheerleaders.
On behalf of Marksman Security, Ben Launerts explained why the company’s motto is “Security personnel and concierge services…right on target.” Founded in 2003, Marksman has since grown to serve over 100 clients throughout South Florida including, Boca Raton Executive Airport, Cinemark Theatres, construction sites, office parks, schools and many luxury residential communities including Mystic Pointe, Vi at Aventura, Turnberry on the Green, Alaqua, Artech, The Peninsula, Trump Towers, Sayan and Beach Club Towers.
“At Marksman, we work very closely with leading management companies and pride ourselves on providing top-notch security guard and front desk concierge personnel. We’ve earned our place in the local market largely through integrity, cutting-edge technology and superior training including Department of Homeland Security counterterrorism tactics. We attribute our success to relationships we’ve made through the Aventura Marketing Council and the people on our team who have helped us build a great company. Marksman also supports many charities, public schools and hospitality and tourism programs fostering future leaders.”
While Marksman is committed to providing the highest level of customized service in the property security industry, Dee emphasized the Miami Dolphins and Sun Life Stadium remain focused on business development and growth – as well as positioning the team and stadium in the forefront of the sports and entertainment field.
Dee noted, “The season has not unfolded the way we all hoped but there’s no script to a game or a season and I think that’s what makes the NFL so exciting.
“We’re committed to trying to bring a Super Bowl championship back here – but a sports team is at its best in relation to its community outreach when it empowers and encourages people to rally around proactive ideas Dolphins’ endeavors involving the community include our Special Teams program which now has over 2,000 volunteers; and the Dolphins Cycling Challenge that raised over $500,000 this year for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.”
Providing an update on Sun Life Stadium, Dee said, “We’re committed to making sure the stadium is positioned and equipped to serve this community’s best interest as we move into the future. The potential renovation of the Miami Beach Convention Center is also of extreme importance to the tourism industry. We’ve been talking with community leaders about ways to expand and upgrade the stadium and convention center that can be integrated in a way that makes sense for economic development and job creation.
“We have a Super Bowl bid coming up in October for the 2015 game; and the 2016 bid will follow in May of 2011. What’s especially important about the 2016 bid is it’s the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl and it also happens to be the 50th anniversary of the Dolphins. Wouldn’t it be great if the Dolphins were in that 2016 Super Bowl on our home field celebrating a championship? If you can dream it and visualize it – it may happen! We want to make sure we’re ready for those two Super Bowl bids.”
