Aventura’s original luxury senior lifecare center, Vi at Aventura, formerly known as Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura, recently hosted Comm. Luz Weinberg, Director of Communications for Bouygues Civil Works Florida, the Port of Miami Tunnel Project. Weinberg discussed this 35-year Design-Build- Finance-Operate-Maintain agreement between the Florida Dept. of Transportation and Concessionaire Miami Access Tunnel. This $900 million project will feature some amazing statistics, such as the 480’ long tunnel boring machine (more than 1.5 football fields) which is 41 ft. in diameter (as high as a 4-story building). Construction milestones are to have the tunnel open to the public by mid-May, 2014.
