The 2021 festival features performances by Modern Drummer Hall of Famers Nicko McBrain, Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, and Billy Cobham, Stewart Copeland, Carmine Appice, Vinny Appice, Kenny Aronoff, Cindy Blackman-Santana, Peter Erskine, Jonathan Joseph, Rick Allen, Lauren Monroe, Russ Miller (ARRIVAL), Giovanni Hidalgo, Brendan Buckley, Rob Silverman, Jotan Afanador, Liberty DeVitto (Liberty DeVitto and The Slim Kings), Brian Frasier-Moore, Russ Kunkel (The Immediate Family), and Brooke Colucci (PLUSH) among many more iconic drummers.
Among the special features of the 2021 Modern Drummer Festival is the announcement of the first recipients of the Neil Peart Spirit of Drumming Scholarship and the Neil Peart Lifetime Achievement Award, which were both founded by Neil Peart’s wife, Carrie Nuttall.
