On May 2, 2024, 100 young professionals ages 22-40 united in solidarity with the people of Israel at Jewish National Fund-USA’s JNFuture “Night in the Negev” event at Level Three in Aventura.

Co-chaired by local philanthropists Amie Akiva and Matthew Franzblau, the event’s keynote speaker was Yuval David, an award-winning actor, host, director, filmmaker, and leading Jewish LGBTQ+ activist. David discussed the importance of using your voice to make a difference and the power of working together as a community to create change.

Franzblau also discussed his recent experience on a Jewish National Fund-USA Volunteer in Israel Mission, where he welcomed residents back into Israel Envelope communities, worked on Israeli farms, and prepared food for Israel Defense Forces soldiers, all while getting a firsthand view of the resilience of the Israeli people in the face of war and tragedy.

“I saw how even through the ongoing state of emergency and the entire population is suffering from the effects of trauma, Jewish National Fund-USA has been with our brothers and sisters in Israel, investing in resilience and therapy centers, strong security systems for our communities, and the opportunity to grow stronger,” said Franzblau. “There is no question we were there for the people of Israel yesterday, we are there today, and we will be there tomorrow.”

The event also featured special interactive exhibits where attendees could “plant seeds” to learn about Jewish National Fund-USA’s array of initiatives in Israel, including the organization’s Israel Resilience Campaign (jnf.org/supportisrael), which has already raised $60 million supporting the evacuation and relocation of tens of thousands of residents in Israel’s South while providing thousands more with housing, food, clothing, and other supplies.

They also learned how the campaign’s Build Together plan is restoring the Israel Envelope communities so displaced families can return home with comfort and peace of mind.

Jewish National Fund-USA’s fastest-growing demographic, JNFuture, is the organization’s community of young professionals ages 22-40 who share a commitment and passion for the land and people of Israel.
