The Miami chapter of the “I Have a Dream” Foundation was founded in 1995 by the Trump Family, adopting 97 Dreamers at the Charles R. Drew School in Liberty City. The chapter’s class of 2005 far exceeded expectations with 95 out of 97 Dreamers reaching 12th grade and 83 of these Dreamers graduating. 72 of these Dreamers are now in college, or have already graduated. In August of 2007, the Miami chapter started a new class of Dreamers at Hibiscus Elementary School – the class of 2020. All funds raised during the memorable evening will be used to support I Have a Dream Foundation of Miami’s work in the local community for the class of 2020. In 2011, the annual “I Have a Dream” Celebration raised $500,000 for children’s programming in Miami.
