Heather J. Rohan, FACHE, President and CEO of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, has been appointed to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives, which serves as the vital link between ACHE and affiliates by approving governance and membership regulations as well as promoting ACHE programs, services and activities within their respective areas.

Rohan will take office at the Council of Regents meeting on March 19th during ACHE’s 54th Congress on Healthcare Leadership at the Hilton Chicago. As a Regent, Rohan will represent ACHE’s membership in Florida.

Rohan has served as President and CEO of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center since 2005. Prior to this position, she was President and CEO of Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee, Florida. Her expansive and impressive career in healthcare has included holding leadership roles in both the administrative and clinical areas for more than 25 years, including serving as CEO of Aventura Hospital and as Chief Nursing Officer at Cedars Medical Center in Miami.

With her roots in Nursing, Rohan earned both her BSN and her MBA degrees from Barry University in Miami Shores. She has served as an adjunct professor for the School of Nursing, served on the Advisory Council for the Barry University School of Business and was named a Distinguished Alumni in 2009.

The American College of Healthcare Executives is an international professional society of more than 30,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations.
