For the past four years, I had the pleasure of working with Denise Landman, your candidate for Aventura City Commissioner, Seat 2, on the historic, PortMiami Tunnel Project, the largest and most technically challenging transportation project in Florida to date. We were counterparts in the Communications team, keeping the public, the industry and our stakeholders thoroughly informed with the numerous construction intricacies of this successful public-private partnership. The billion dollar PortMiami Tunnel allows cruise and cargo traffic to access the County’s second largest economic generator, Port Miami, direct highway access.

As your commissioner for more than nine years and a Miami-Dade Expressway Authority Board Member, I also understand that solving traffic and congestion will depend heavily on us exploring regional mobility solutions. I have seen Denise engage with the Florida Department of Transportation, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (the County Board in charge of approving transportation projects in Miami-Dade), the County andthe State, gaining valuable experience in transportation and infrastructure development. She brings Aventura theseestablished relationships that can help our commission with these delicate issues.  She is a keen communicator and has worked with neighborhoods and businesses around South Florida educating and informing them on projects and issues. She offers that consensus-building experience and problem-solving, providing an open line of communication to Aventura.

I can tell you without a doubt, that serving on this fiscally sound, beautiful city of Aventura relies not only on such experience, but also on personality and teamwork. Denise understands that, possesses that, and has operated her successful career track on that. I know she will be a great team player on our city commission, concentrating as we have only on the best interests of the city.

After completing the tunnel, Denise is now one of the leaders on the communications team at Miami-Dade County Public Schools, working directly for and with Superintendent Alberto Carvalho.  Denise has no business or interests in the City of Aventura, other than ensuring it continues to be a City of Excellence where she and her husband can raise their family.  She has served on our City’s Community Services Advisory Board for the past two years, and among her contributions, brought the initiative of a Green Market to the City.  Arriving from Argentina at a young age, Denise has been raised, schooled, and has been an active member of this community.  She is a graduate of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Miami class of 2013-2014, and a member of Beth Torah.

Early voting starts October 20th, and Election Day is November 4th! I am proud to support Denise Landman for seat 2, and humbly ask you to do the same (punch #79).
