Over 200 existing and prospective members of the exclusive Turnberry Isle Resort & Golf Club recently enjoyed a Hawaiian-themed Member Mingler at the newly renovated private Ocean Club. Guests were greeted with flower leis by hula dancers in grass skirts, two brightly-colored oversized parrots, wooden canoes filled with exotic flowers, tiki huts and a stone-carved statue along with coconut-filled drinks, top-shelf cocktails and an abundance of island fare — all while taking in for the first time — the dramatic transformation of Turnberry’s Isle’s beautiful beachfront.
During the beautiful affair, partygoers sampled award-winning cuisine prepared by Turnberry Isle’s team of talented chefs. The menu for the evening included an array of butler passed hors d’oeuvres, shrimp cocktail displayed on ice, beef and salmon sliders, pineapple-boniato mashed potatoes, Asian stir-fries, barbequed meats and seafood. Decadent desserts and a table of tropical treats served in carved fruit baskets further delighted guests.
“It really was an incredibly memorable evening and served as an excellent way to introduce our current and prospective members to one of the many highlights of our Turnberry Isle Resort & Golf Club,” said Amy Cohen, membership director. With its stunning views of the Atlantic, wall of towering palm trees, native plants to the area, blue and white-striped plush private cabanas and lounge chairs, the newly-renovated Ocean Club provided the perfect backdrop to also enjoy music from a DJ and a luau show that featured Hawaiian / Polynesian dances and a fire-eater. Decor was provided by Deco Productions, while entertainment was at the hands of EMAC Entertainment.
In the end, there was a contagious energy in the air. Guests were impressed by the grandeur of the revamped beach club combined with the exquisiteness of a memorable event and newly acquired “island moves.” As guests departed, they were given Turnberry Isle logo cookies as a fond remembrance.
