Emerging filmmakers ages 16-25 from around the world are in the spotlight this weekend at the iGen Film Festival, Oct. 19-21, in Historic Overtown at the Historic Black Archives Lyric Theatre 819 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33136.

The mission of the iGen Film Festival (formerly the Elijah Wells Youth Indie Film Festival) is for these young filmmakers’ works to reach the broadest possible audience and to generate international dialogue through cinema. 1. I am so excited about the 3rd Annual iGen Film Festival and the winners that took home awards and cash prizes for the great films that was show cased. A special shout out to Florida Film House for supporting behind the scenes. The community filmmakers, writers and producers all came out and supported the festival this year. If that was not awesome we had a special actor from Nickelodeon “I Am Frankie” Zachary S. William. The iGen Film Festival Ambassador Romeo Miller a American rapper, actor, entrepreneur, and model engaged the audience with his journey in the industry. Before leaving he payed a special visit to the youth at a local Overtown Youth Center to share with the youth. Also with him was Black Panther Actress Sope Aluko. And one of Miami very own American television actress and singer who starred as Harriette Baines–Winslow, the matriarch of the Winslow family on the ABC/CBS sitcom Family Matters super star actress JoAnn marie Payton just to name a few. The Women in Film panel was a show stopper this year and we cant forget the Mommanger Talk hosted by your very own Martha Whisby Wells. I am looking forward to the 2019 iGen Film Festival.
