The 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG EQE Sedan is an amazing looking vehicle. Immediately you get an impression that this is a cutting edge vehicle, with its front curved down, like a shark.
The AMG EQE looks fast and it is. It can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds. This power is generated by a 617 horsepower engine with 701 pound-feet of torque.
You feel it as you are driving around, getting the full grip of the tires on the road. It is a different kind of feel that you don’t get in many sports cars, especially sedans, but Mercedes-Benz pulls it off.
The wonderful sedan delivers 24 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. This beauty can seat five passengers and feels roomy from both the back and the front. You see the luxury in the separation between the front and the back and the views of the road from just about everywhere in the car.
The engine is a masterpiece, with AMG-specific dual electric motors and a race start boost function that can briefly output up to 677 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The “permanently excited synchronous motors” feature enhanced windings, actuators and programming for quicker acceleration and higher top speed. AMG-specific cooling helps maintain consistent response during performance driving and varying climates.
An electro-specific development of the acclaimed AMG all-wheel drive system can continuously distribute torque to all four wheels with infinite front/rear-axle variability. Markedly quicker in response than mechanical AWD and virtually weightless, the system can calculate and adjust the torque split 10,000 times per minute.
Here’s another nice feature the 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG EQE sedan offers: choices for performance. The “comfort” mode of AMG dynamic select emphasizes efficiency and range while the “sport” and “sport+” modes emphasize driving dynamics with a greater rear-axle bias.
Another performance tool is the “ECO assist feature,” which can intelligently process data from the vehicle’s driving assistance and navigation systems to help you maximize your efficiency and energy recuperation from braking or coasting. Using GPS and map data, topography, traffic, and the detection of nearby vehicles via radar and the stereo camera, “ECO assist” can optimize energy recovery, and allow pure one-pedal driving in some conditions.
All of this power and performance can be had for a cool $107,000 for the exclusive trim, which comes with Burmester surround sound, rear-axle steering, navigation with Electric Intelligence, and a suite of advanced driver assists. For just over $109,000, the pinnacle trim offers innovative indulgence with four-zone climate control with fragrance and ionization, a head-up display, and additional USB-C ports in the cabin.
Make sure to give the 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG a drive. You will be happily engaged by the experience.
