2025 Nissan Murano is built for Miami lifestyle

Miami has a way of testing cars. One minute you’re crawling on I-95 in rush hour heat, and the next you’re sliding into a packed garage in Brickell or packing paddleboards for a weekend in Key Biscayne.

If an SUV can’t juggle comfort, style, and versatility, it won’t survive here. That’s why the all-new 2025 Nissan Murano feels like it was made with our city in mind.

For years, the Murano was the SUV you bought if you didn’t want to follow the crowd. Sleek curves instead of boxy edges, a cabin that felt more like a lounge than a utility vehicle. But lately, it was showing its age. The V6 and continuously variable transmission combo was thirsty in stop-and-go traffic, and the tech felt behind compared to what our neighbors were pulling up in at the valet line.

This year, Nissan hit reset. The new Murano has a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with a nine-speed automatic, and the difference is noticeable the moment you hit Florida’s Turnpike. The turbo has enough pep for merging onto SR 836, but what you really will appreciate is the smoothness. It is quieter, more composed, and sips gas at a rate that won’t make you regret weekend drives down to the Keys. It delivers 21 miles per gallon in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

Inside, Nissan doubled down on comfort – and for Miami, that’s gold. Dual 12.3-inch screens keep your maps and playlists front and center, and the available quilted leather seats feel like heaven. Ventilation and massage? Of course. Add in 64-color ambient lighting and a panoramic roof, and suddenly sitting in traffic on US1 feels a little less painful.

The design? Pure Miami chic. The “crystal cube” LED headlights and bold LED taillight bar make it stand out on Ocean Drive at night, while the wider stance gives it a premium presence. It is upscale without trying too hard, which is a balance most SUVs miss.

Tech and safety features seal the deal. ProPILOT Assist helps with those long hauls to Orlando, and Nissan’s invisible hold view, which offers a bird’s eye view, is a lifesaver when navigating tight Wynwood parking spots. Add in top safety ratings and a suite of driver assists, and you have peace of mind whether you are on I-75 or Collins Avenue.

No, it doesn’t pretend to be an off-roader or a three-row family bus. The Murano, which starts around $40,000, is something different: a sanctuary on wheels. For Miami drivers who want a stylish escape from traffic, a comfortable ride to the beach, and a car that looks as good at the valet stand as it does in front of Publix, the 2025 Murano delivers.
