Miami-Dade Transit extends hours for Metrorail, Metromover service

The Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) has extended the operating hours for Metrorail and Metromover effective Sunday, May 2. Hours of operation once again will be 5 a.m. to midnight daily.

Metrorail weekday frequency for morning and afternoon peak will be every 10 minutes, while non-peak frequency will be 15 minutes and increase to 30 minutes after 7:30 p.m. Weekend frequency for Metrorail will be every 30 minutes all day Saturdays and Sundays.

Passengers heading to the airport will need to continue to transfer at the Earlington Heights Metrorail station to catch the Orange line train. Frequency for Orange line service will be every 15 minutes daily.

Metromover frequency will remain at approximately every 5 minutes throughout the day.

Metrobus route 500 no longer will operate between the hours of 10 p.m. and midnight.

Riders can use Metrorail services during that time. The GO Nightly program will continue to operate for Miami-Dade Transit passengers needing a ride between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m. For more details on the program, visit gonightly.miamidade.gov.

Miami-Dade Transit riders are reminded that all transit fares and parking fees will be reinstated beginning Tuesday, June 1. Riders who have been impacted by COVID-19 or are facing financial hardships may qualify for free or reduced fare. Face masks remain a requirement for any transit rider, both inside of a Miami-Dade Transit vehicle and at a Transit facility. DTPW will continue to follow the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Florida Department of Health (FDOH), and Miami-Dade County.
