The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County (@arshtcenter) announces the appointment of new board members to the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust (AACT) Board of Directors: Luis Andre Gazitua, appointed by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Roberto Gonzalez; Joseph Gulino, appointed by Florida Grand Opera; Adam Morris, appointed by New World Symphony; Kamila Pritchett and Gabriel Valdes, both appointed by the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust.
“We proudly welcome these new board members to the Arsht Center Trust Board. Their breadth of experience in a variety of sectors, coupled with their commitment to the Miami community will be an asset as the Arsht continues to deliver impactful and magical arts experiences to the people of Miami-Dade County and beyond,” said Arsht Trust Board Chairman Richard Milstein.
Luis Andre Gazitua is a Miami-based attorney and lobbyist specializing in procurement in Miami-Dade County, the municipalities of the greater Miami area and Miami-Dade County Public Schools. He represents clients from pre-bid through bid protest, award and project implementation stages. Gazitua works with clients in all industries, including technology, infrastructure and transportation. Luis authored the Miami-Dade County strong mayor charter amendment, which was approved by the voters in 2006. As senior advisor to the Mayor of Miami-Dade County, he was a key player in creating the South Florida Workforce Investment Board, which is now known as CareerSource South Florida. Gazitua is also a frequent contributor to The Miami Herald and has offered pro-bono services to organizations such as the Live Like Bella Childhood Cancer Foundation.
Joseph Gulino is the managing partner at the international law firm DRRT. An internationally recognized attorney and leader in securities litigation and investor protection, Gulino has spent nearly two decades successfully representing institutional investors in complex litigation across multiple jurisdictions. Gulino is a U.S.-trained, multilingual attorney, dual-licensed to practice in the U.S. (Florida, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.) and England and Wales. He holdsdegrees from Villanova University and the University of Pittsburgh and is also board certified in international law by the Florida Bar. Deeply committed to education and service, Gulino holds leadership roles with the American University of Rome, the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), where he co-chairs the Grants, Scholarships, and Youth Engagement Committee and the Florida Grand Opera. In 2023, Gulino was knighted by the Republic of Italy with the rank of “Cavaliere Ufficiale” of the Order of the Star (Ordine della Stella d’Italia).
Adam M. Morris is a managing director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Miami. He works with ultra-high net worth families, foundations and endowments in South Florida and New York. Morris started at J.P. Morgan in 2005 in the Investment Bank in London, where he was a global equity strategist advising institutional clients on investment strategy. In 2010, he became a private banker in the Financial Institutions Group in New York, moving to Miami four years ago to help build on the continued success of the office. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Morris was a management consultant for nine years, providing strategic consulting services to financial services firms. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics in international relations from the London School of Economics and a master’s degree in finance from the London Business School. He sits on the Board of Trustees of New World Symphony and Board of Directors of SAVE Foundation, South Florida’s longest-serving organization to promote, protect and defend LGBTQ equality. He is a supporter of the arts in Miami, a member of the Collectors Council of the Perez Art Museum Miami and an active participant in the Council on Foreign Relations.
Kamila Pritchett is the executive director of The Black Archives History and Research Foundation of South Florida. She oversees the day-to-day operations of The Black Archives, curates impactful programming, develops community partnerships and spearheads crucial fundraising initiatives that have propelled the organization’s growth. Since joining The Black Archives in 2013, Pritchett played a key role in the successful reopening of the Historic Lyric Theater in 2014 and the Historic D.A. Dorsey House in 2019. Both historically designated spaces hold deep cultural significance in the vibrant Overtown community and are owned and operated by The Black Archives. Through her efforts, these spaces have been revitalized, serving as vital cultural hubs that honor the rich heritage and history of South Florida’s Black community. Her efforts were recently recognized with the 2023 appointment to the Board of Directors for the Association of African American Museums (AAAM). Pritchett earned an associate’s degree in journalism/mass communication from Miami-Dade College and a bachelor’s degree in English, along with an undergraduate certificate in African New World Studies from Florida International University. She is also a member of the Greater Miami (FL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Gabriel Valdes is a partner at the global law firm, Sidley Austin LLP. He counsels clients on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, divestitures and other corporate transactions involving primarily private equity sponsors, fundless sponsors, family offices and other public and private companies. He also advises his clients on a broad range of non-transactional corporate, governance, and strategic planning matters, drawing on his experience with clients of all sizes and from a variety of industries to provide practical and creative counseling. Valdes is a founding partner of the firm’s Miami office, a member of the Miami office’s Recruiting Committee and member of the firm’s Evaluation and Compensation of Associates Committee. Outside of the firm, Valdes serves on the Legal Services of Greater Miami Leaders Council, is an adjunct law professor at the University of Miami School of Law and volunteers as a little league baseball coach at Howard Palmetto Baseball & Softball Association. Valdes holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University (Honors College) and a juris doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
