The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County recently announced the appointment of new board members to the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust (AACT) Board of Directors: Norma Jean Abraham, Tania Dominguez, Sean Gazitua, Commissioner Keon Hardemon, Liliam Lopez and Larry Quinlan.
“The Arsht Center will benefit greatly from the widely diverse professional expertise and personal backgrounds that these board members bring to the organization,” said AACT Board chair Richard Milstein. “Their input and support will enhance the ability of the Arsht Center to meet its mission by connecting with people from every corner of our diverse community through inspiring artistic experiences.”
Norma Jean Abraham has been actively involved for four decades with non-profit organizations throughout her hometown of Miami as well as in Jamaica and Lebanon (her birthplace). In the 1980s, Abraham owned a party planning business — Details, Details, Inc. —where she pioneered the “party for a cause” concept, connecting special events to worthy charitable organizations. Following in the footsteps of her father, Anthony R. Abraham, who was a founding member of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Abraham’s service to the community includes involvement as president of University of Miami’s Cancer Link and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Women’s Committee.
Among many causes she supports, Abraham has been a board member of the Plaza Health Network, Zoo Miami and the Learning Leadership Center at St. John Bosco, where you can often find her visiting with the kids in the afterschool program which she helped to initiate.
Tania Dominguez is senior vice president of business and legal affairs at Cisneros, a privately held company and family office based in Miami and focusing on media and entertainment, digital advertising, real estate development and new technologies.
Dominguez has more than 20 years of experience directing complex transactions with a business-minded approach and providing guidance to the executive leadership team with respect to legal matters, including contract negotiation, transactions, business development, corporate governance and compliance.
She has served on various committees with the United Way of Miami-Dade, as a Trustee of St. Philip’s Episcopal School and as a member of the Ransom Everglades School Parents’ Association. She earned a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Georgetown University and a juris doctorate cum laude from Harvard Law School.
Sean Gazitua is president and CEO of WTDC, an award-winning Miami-based logistics infrastructure company founded by his grandfather in 1977. Before ascending to president and CEO in 2017, Gazitua had 15 years of experience at the company, becoming well versed in every aspect of logistics. In 2021, he received a Travel Retail Superstar Award from duty-free and travel retail publisher The Moodie Davitt Report in the Humanity, Leadership and Inspiration category.
Gazitua’s community involvement includes service as vice president of the board of the Florida International University (FIU) Alumni Association, president of FIU’s Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni and Volunteer Corporation and member of the FIU President’s Council. He is a graduate of the School of International Business at FIU.
The Hon. Keon Hardemon is Miami-Dade County District 3 Commissioner and principal of the Law Office of Keon Hardemon PA, where he maintains a criminal defense practice. As a member of the county commission since November 2020, Hardemon sponsored legislation that secured nearly $90 million to combat gun violence. He has also served as City of Miami Commissioner, the youngest since the establishment of single member districts, and chaired the Southeast Overtown Park West Community Redevelopment Agency. As chair, he partnered with renowned Chef Marcus Samuelsson to establish Red Rooster Overtown, an award-winning restaurant that established Overtown as a food and entertainment destination. He also funded the Town Park housing rehabilitation program, which has allocated more than $50 million to fully renovate Overtown’s oldest multi-family affordable housing units to ensure long-term residents could benefit from the positive transformation of a historically neglected neighborhood.
Hardemon was raised in Liberty City and graduated with a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University as well as a juris doctorate from the University of Miami.
Liliam Lopez is the founder of the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) and the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation, serving as president/CEO of both organizations since their establishment in the 1990s. SFLHCC has become one of the longest running and most robust Hispanic chambers in the U.S. with over 1,650 members and has granted over $925,000 in scholarships to disadvantaged minority students of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. She was involved in the Economic Recovery Task Force in 2021 and is a board member of Larkin Charter School for Health Sciences, and serves as a board member of the Beacon Council, Miami-Dade Area Health Education Center (AHEC), Small/Micro and Minority/Women Business Owned Enterprise of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Advisory Council of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the City of Miami Beach Commission on Women, the Advisory Board of Precision Medicine and Health Disparities Collaborative of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Meharry Medical College and the University of Miami.
She also serves on the President’s Council for Florida International University (FIU) and has received numerous recognitions, most recently the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Community Builder Award and the 2021 South Florida Business Journal Influential Businesswoman award. Lopez has a bachelor’s degree from St. Thomas University and a certificate in paralegal studies from the University of Miami.
Larry Quinlan is a digital and technology transformation expert with extensive experience in complex enterprise systems integrations, cybersecurity, technology organizational design and global shared services models. Quinlan most recently served as global chief information officer for Deloitte, the $50 billion professional services firm. He had responsibility for all facets of technology strategy and operations, leading over 10,000 IT professionals in 175 countries.
Quinlan serves on the boards of ServiceNow, a leader in cloud digital workflow; Jones Lang LaSalle, a world leader in real estate services; and UBS Americas Holding LLC.
He is active in non-profit governance, chairing the technology committee of the United Way of Miami as well as the NPower Emeritus Board. Passionate about opportunities in underserved communities, Quinlan joined other CIOs to found The TechPACT, an organization committed to bridging the digital divide. Larry has an MBA from Baruch College, City University of New York and a bachelor’s degree from the University of the West Indies. In 2018, he was inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame and The University of the West Indies conferred an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) degree in recognition of his leadership in industry.
