Alper JCC Miami is proud to announce its highly anticipated Women’s Day Luncheon & Boutique, a signature event of the 444th  Annual Alper JCC Miami Berrin Family Jewish Book Festival. Set for Friday, November 15, 2024, this cherished gathering will celebrate community, literature and empowerment while honoring two remarkable women—Mikki Futernick and Miriam Zadok.

This year’s keynote speaker is Lisa Barr, an award-winning author whose latest novel, The Goddess of Warsaw, has captivated readers around the world. Barr will share her journey as a writer and discuss the inspiration behind her acclaimed work.

Event co-chairs Beth Davidson and Jodi Orshan expressed their excitement for the upcoming celebration.

“We are honored to recognize Mikki and Miriam for their invaluable contributions to the community,” said Davidson. “This event is about bringing together strong, inspiring women, and we are thrilled to have Lisa Barr as our keynote speaker. Her story will resonate deeply with all who attend.”

The boutique opens at 10:00 AM, offering a wide selection of specialty curated items, perfect for holiday shopping. The luncheon and keynote presentation will begin at 10:30 AM. All proceeds from the event will support the Alper JCC’s programming, which provides enriching and educational opportunities for the South Dade community.

“This year’s Women’s Day Luncheon is sure to be a day of celebration, connection and inspiration,” said Orshan. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together and support the important work of the Alper JCC.”

Events like these serve to strengthen the Jewish and broader community of South Miami-Dade and promote Jewish values, ethics, and traditions that meet the needs of an inclusive environment.
