Amerant Bank, the largest community bank headquartered in Florida, recently announced it has named Howard Levine executive vice president, head of Consumer Banking.
Levine will join Amerant’s Executive Management Committee and oversee Amerant’s Private Client, Wealth Management, Mortgage Lending, Business Banking and Retail Banking divisions. He also will be responsible for promoting business development within these areas and creating new products, in addition to driving strong customer engagement.
“Howard’s proven leadership abilities and experience enable him to spearhead Amerant’s new consumer banking division,” said Jerry Plush, chair and CEO of Amerant Bank. “As we look to elevate our consumer banking services and offerings, we are confident in his ability to generate positive results.”
In early 2021, Levine joined Amerant Mortgage as executive vice president and chief revenue officer. A joint venture between Amerant Bank and a team of highly specialized residential real estate executives with a long track record of success in the residential mortgage arena, Amerant Mortgage offers the full complement of residential lending solutions to include conventional, government, Jumbo loans and unique product offerings.
As the head of Consumer Banking, he will oversee the Amerant Mortgage Division.

Amerant’s consumer banking division provides financial services to hundreds of customers and small business banking clients throughout South Florida; Houston, TX, and now the Greater Tampa Bay area.
