América Viva Gala: A celebration of art, education and heritage
The evening brought together renowned artists, philanthropists, and community leaders in a vibrant tribute to the culture, unity, and artistic excellence of the Americas.

The Fourth Edition of the América Viva Gala Cocktail happened on Mar. 12 transforming the Thomson Plaza for the Arts at the Adrienne Arsht Center into a dazzling celebration of Hispanic heritage. The evening brought together renowned artists, philanthropists, and community leaders in a vibrant tribute to the culture, unity, and artistic excellence of the Americas.

Produced by New Land Theatricals, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Hispanic America’s cultural heritage through world-class performances, educational programs, and community initiatives, this prestigious event was supported by presenter sponsors Baptist Health, ATR Luxury Homes, and Adonel Companies, alongside media and marketing partners HOLA! USA & Americas and Loud and Live.

Honoring Icons of music and education:
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 2025 Inca Garcilaso Medal to three distinguished honorees:
• The Celia Cruz Foundation – Celebrating the centennial of Celia Cruz’s birth and her enduring musical legacy.
• The Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation – Recognizing a decade of fostering the next generation of Latin music talent.
• The Miami Children’s Chorus – Honored for over 60 years of nurturing young voices.

A night of unforgettable performances:
The evening opened with a spectacular multicultural performance by the New Land Dance Company and the América Viva The Class Dance Program, setting the stage for an emotional and inspiring night.

The Miami Children’s Chorus delivered a breathtaking performance, their voices harmonizing in a tribute to youth empowerment through art. The Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation showcased its scholarship recipients, who took the stage for mesmerizing performances, demonstrating their extraordinary talent and passion for Latin music.

Closing the night, Grammy-winning artist Aymée Nuviola and her band paid homage to the “Queen of Salsa,” Celia Cruz. Their heartfelt tribute filled the room with nostalgia, as the audience swayed to the rhythm of Celia’s timeless music — a testament to her lasting influence across generations.

A celebration of culture and unity:
The evening featured a VIP red carpet, welcome cocktail, and gala ceremony, drawing an illustrious crowd, including celebrities like Willy Chirino and an Honorary Gala Committee led by influential business figures such as Walter Alvarez, from Prestress Concrete alongside Al Fernandez, from ANF Group among others. The event was co-chaired by Ana Teresa Rodríguez, Gaby Negron, and Carolina Lizarraga, all of whom share a deep commitment to the arts and education.

Carolina Lizarraga, artistic director of New Land Theatricals, captured the spirit of the night, stating: “We are celebrating the power of art to inspire, transform, and connect us all. Tonight, we’re not Cubans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Puerto Ricans, or Americans — tonight, we’re all Americanos!”

Ana Teresa Rodríguez, chair of New Land Theatricals, echoed the sentiment: “This isn’t just a gala; it’s a powerful reminder of our rich culture and the stories we carry.”
