South Florida’s brightest stars are aligning for an unforgettable night under the cosmos. Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade invites the community to its 17th Annual “Wild About Kids” “GALAxia Night,” a dazzling black-tie gala set for Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Loews Coral Gables Hotel.
Beginning at 7 p.m., the interstellar-themed evening will feature a sparkling cocktail reception, gourmet three-course dinner, live performances, dancing and a silent auction, all to raise critical funds for the six Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade that serve Miami-Dade’s youth.
Guests will mingle with Miami’s top philanthropists, business leaders, and changemakers as they come together to support life-changing academic, creative, and athletic programs for local children and teens. From one-on-one mentoring and STEM education to tutoring, sports, and the arts, proceeds from “GALAxia Night” power the Clubs’ mission to help every child reach his or her full potential.
Returning to the spotlight as the dynamic duo of TV, WSVN’s Belkys Nerey and Lynn Martinez will reunite to emcee the evening, serving up their signature wit, energy, and plenty of laughs throughout the night.
Evening highlights include a performance by acclaimed Latin soul artist Lucy Grau and a performance by the talented Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Dance Stars.
The event is chaired by longtime supporter Michelle Zubizarreta, with Olga Guilarte as Special Event chair. The Host Committee includes many of Miami’s most influential civic leaders, including board chair Rodolfo “Rudy” Lleonart, Liana de Mena, Jackie Gonzalez, Isabel Jettinghoff, Lisa Mendelson, Yuni Navarro, Kristina Perez-Cubas, Abigail Pollak, Karen Rodriguez, Andy and Allison Stuart, Eris Thomas and Meredith Virnig.
“Our annual gala is more than a fundraiser, it’s a celebration of the future we’re building together for our youth,” Zubizarreta said. “‘GALAxia Night’ is about hope, empowerment, and opportunity.”
“This magnificent evening helps fuel the programs that open doors for thousands of kids each year,” added Alex Rodriguez-Roig, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.
“We’re grateful to everyone who makes it possible.”
