Reinaldo Borges, the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Resiliency & Sustainability Task Force Chairman, will discuss what Miami can do to overcome the impact of sea rise on housing, the economy and jobs during an online discussion.

Mr. Englander’s book, “Moving to Higher Ground” will be a focus of the conversation as will the challenges and approaches to protecting South Florida from sea rise. The lively exchange will also touch on what industries and corporations are doing in response to sea rise, how property owners along the coast are adapting and efforts to preserve our fragile environment.

The event will be held Thursday, October 21 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. on Zoom (ID: 819 9147 5861).

“Already, Miami is confronting impacts from sea rise including flooded roads and rising insurance rates,” Mr. Borges explained. “John Englander and I will discuss what is being done and what can be done to overcome these impacts today and tomorrow. We are confident there is a way forward if we all act together.”
