The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County (@arshtcenter) will host its 13th annual Gala on Saturday, Apr. 6, with a celebration of leadership honoring Arnold W. Donald, CEO of Carnival Corporation.
Carnival Corporation was a founding donor of the Arsht Center, with its civic commitment commemorated by the naming of the Carnival Studio Theater, Carnival Bridge and the historic Carnival Tower. The oldest Art Deco building in Miami, the iconic tower serves as a beacon for South Florida’s arts community and currently is the canvas for a 20- by 30-foot ballerina mural by Brazilian muralist Eduardo Kobra.
“It is vital that our community have a vested interest in the continued success of the Arsht Center. Thought leaders and philanthropists who are deeply committed to the arts play a key role in the cultural future of Miami,” said Adrienne Arsht, founding chair of the Adrienne Arsht Center Foundation. “For our 13th gala, I am pleased to honor an outstanding leader, Arnold Donald, who shares our belief in the power of the arts.”
Ira D. Hall, chair of the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust Board of Directors, added, “Carnival has always put community first. For its 13th annual Gala, the Arsht Center will be transformed to create a unique and unforgettable evening. Fundraising proceeds from the Gala will support the Arsht’s mission-driven Arts Education and Community Engagement Programs, which continue to expand throughout Miami-Dade County. For Gala sponsors and those interested in the Gala experience, the evening will include numerous opportunities to celebrate the occasion with fellow supporters, community leaders and philanthropists.
Additional details, including the Gala dinner and concert artists, will be announced in December.
