Proceeds to be donated to Little Haiti Coding Boot Camp
Local Miami agency, The Artisan Agency, has partnered with City of Miami Mayor Francis X. Suarez to conceptualize and create the “How Can I Help?” non-fungible token (NFT) collection as part of Mayor Suarez’s platform dedicated to transforming Miami into a global tech hub.
The one-of-a-kind unique collection is a set of 12 NFTs will be auctioned off through Open Sea from Tuesday, October 26 through Thursday November 4, 2021. In an effort to cultivate local, homegrown technology talent, 100 percent of the proceeds generated from the auction of these unique pieces of art, along with a 10 percent resale royalty, will be donated to Little Haiti Coding Boot Camp.
“We are excited to venture into the NFT space with a partner we admire, Mayor Francis Suarez,” said Daniel Bustamante, president of Artisan Agency. “His enthusiasm for growing technology in Miami is inspiring and we’re proud to auction these NFTs and fund the development of our own local tech talent.”
The “How Can I Help?” collection was inspired by a 2019 tweet response from the Miami Mayor when it was suggested that Silicon Valley move to Miami. When Mayor Suarez responded, “How can I help?”, the tweet went viral and served as the inspiration for the 12 unique NFT digital artworks.
Mayor Suarez has made national headlines since then in his efforts to transform the city into the world’s cryptocurrency innovation hub having played host to Miami’s first ever Crypto Conference in June of 2021 and successfully lured major investment and wealth management firms to relocate to Miami. Miami is now also the first municipality to accept cryptocurrency contributions through CityCoins.
“I’m excited to launch these NFTs which will continue to draw attention to Miami’s growing tech community. The Little Haiti Coding Boot Camp is a great local tech incubator that relies on our support to thrive,” said Mayor Suarez.
Transforming the City of Miami into a major tech hub is a significant platform in Mayor Suarez’s re-election campaign which Artisan Agency is also assisting with; however, cultivating and developing Miami’s homegrown tech talent will mean local talent is available for an incoming tech boom.
