The Consulate General of Japan in Miami is proud to be a platinum sponsor of the 32nd Annual Asian Culture Festival taking place at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th Street, in Miami on Saturday and Sunday, March 4th-5th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This exciting event is presented by the Thai-American Association of South Florida, Logistic Events Corp, Miami-Dade Asian American Advisory Board, Tropical Park, and the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces Department.

The two-day, fun-filled family festival offers music and dance performances, demonstrations, arts and crafts, and a selection of authentic and delicious Asian cuisine with a variety of dishes from numerous Asian communities.

Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Iran, South Korea, Turkey, India, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Israel, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri-Lanka, Tibet, Vietnam, Mongolia and Yemen will all be represented at this year’s festival.

At our booth, Japan’s diplomatic mission to Florida (the Consulate General of Japan in Miami), supported by FlU’s Japan Club and Asian Student Union as well as the Miami Hoshuko school, is excited to provide origami, the opportunity to write your name in Japanese characters, Japanese cultural trivia, Study Abroad and JET program info and more!

In addition to the consulate booth, various Japanese cultural groups are hosting wonderful cultural performances and activities.

The Fushu Daiko Group of traditional Japanese Taiko Drummers will put on a thrilling performance of thundering rhythms, dynamic movements, and intense showmanship, putting the passion and dynamism of Japan on full-display. Ikebana International’s Miami Chapter will again hold its Japanese flower arrangement (ikebana) workshops and demonstrations. Moreover, this year we also be joined by the Miami Budokan of Japanese swordsmanship.

The festival offers a way to actively experience and learn about the traditions, contributions, and heritage of Asia.

Attracting thousands of visitors every year, the festival seeks to continue bringing together the South Florida community-at-large for years to come and keep promoting the importance of cultural diversity and inclusivity for building a vibrant, prosperous and healthy and humanitarian community.
