Beeping Easter Egg Hunt for blind children

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired is hosting its annual Beeping Easter Egg Hunt on Apr. 17, 10-11 a.m., at the Miami Lighthouse Academy Playground, 601 SW Eighth Ave., for blind and visually impaired children to participate in this holiday tradition.

Students will search for colorful beeping eggs assembled by the South Florida Police Benevolent Association and Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and hidden by the Easter Bunny. The sounds emitted by the eggs allow blind and visually impaired children to find the eggs by listening.

The South Florida Police Benevolent Association and the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad also will distribute Easter baskets with candy and bring a police robot for Miami Lighthouse Academy students to interact with during the event.
