More than 50 blind and visually impaired students, on Sept. 21, experienced the roar of Ferraris, the power of McLarens, and the joy of riding in Lamborghinis, Vipers and Porsches during Miami Lighthouse for the Blind’s second annual Cars for Charity event.
Generous donors showcased an impressive fleet of nearly 20 high-performance vehicles, granting Miami Lighthouse students an unforgettable interaction through sound, smell and touch with the exotic fleet.
“At Miami Lighthouse, we say that it’s possible to see without sight, and our Cars for Charity event proves just that,” said Virginia Jacko, president and CEO of Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired. “Our students heard the roar of the engines, touched the cars with their white gloves, and enjoyed the thrill of riding in high-performance vehicles during this unique multisensory experience.”
The Cars for Charity event was carefully designed to instill confidence through the power of touch and interaction, teaching blind and visually impaired students that they can do or be anything.
