Boutique law firm opens Downtown Miami office
Richard I. Segal, Esq.

Richard I. Segal, Esq., a third generation Miami Beach native and chair of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, along with Zachary Potter, Esq., recently opened the Downtown Miami office of Rottenstreich Farley Bronstein Fisher Potter Hodas LLP (RFB + Fisher Potter Hodas), a national litigation boutique firm concentrating on complex, high-net-worth matrimonial disputes.

Segal and Potter co-founded and co-manage the Miami office, which expands the national firm’s presence in South Florida. The modern Miami workplace is not designed like a traditional law firm as it is more integrated with open spaces, light colors and glass walls, creating a more welcoming and stimulating work environment.

The office is launching with seven to 10 attorneys plus a support team. The firm has nearly 30 lawyers across its three locations, which include Manhattan, NY; Palm Beach, FL, and Miami.

The 6,862-square-foot Miami office is located in the Citigroup Center (formerly Miami Center) at 201 S. Biscayne Blvd., Suite 840, Miami FL 33131. In the lease transaction, RFB + Fisher Potter Hodas was represented by broker Newmark Southern Region, LLC d/b/a Newmark, and CP Miami Center LLC was represented by broker Jones Lang LaSalle Brokerage Inc. Immediately adjacent to Bayfront Park, it is situated east of the Central Business District and close to the Southeast Financial Center and Hotel InterContinental Miami.

“I could not be happier to lead and open the Miami office of RFB + Fisher Potter Hodes with Zachary Potter. Miami is one of the world’s epicenters for business and wealth, and we welcome the community to experience the expertise of our national firm, which has tried and settled significant, precedent-setting cases in Florida and New York,” said Segal, who began his career in the same building as the youngest partner at Kluger Kaplan.

“I am pleased to have Richard join me in opening the Miami office of RFB + Fisher Potter Hodas,” Potter said. “Our common vision of how a law firm should operate is to hire and train the most talented professionals, treat everyone with respect, and provide our clients the commitment, counsel, and creativity that they need.”

Segal focuses on complex matrimonial law and business litigation. His position with RFB + Fisher Potter Hodes builds on his leadership in Miami’s business and legal communities, as well as the success of his prior firm, Miami’s Segal Zuckerman, which focused on business litigation, family law, and trust and estate litigation in state and federal courts throughout Florida and nationwide.

Segal has deep roots in the Miami Beach community. In October 2023, he was installed as chair of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, a position he will hold for two years, after more than a decade of commitment to the organization. He previously was appointed by the city commissioners of Miami Beach and former mayors of Miami Beach Philip Levine and Dan Gelber to serve on the Board of Adjustment (BOA) and chaired the BOA for two years.
